Ghost Cams
Our Ghost Cams were started in the early 2000's and instantly became a hit of people interested in paranormal activity all over the world. People watch our Ghost Cams hoping to catch paranormal activity in real time. We do not claim that you will see anything on these cams other than our resident hamster, Willie.
During business hours, some cameras will be temporarily turned off to protect the privacy of our patrons and staff. If you find that the cameras are offline, rest assured that they will be restored as soon as possible.
- The Grey Lady was last reportedly sighted on August 10, 2010, in the basement hallway camera by the Assistant Children’s Librarian.
- Psychics visiting the Library in 2007 said they were able to confirm the presence of a ghost. Since then, paranormal investigation groups have visited the Library with specialized equipment in an attempt to detect it.
- Several library employees have reported seeing the ghost, including Margaret Maier, Children’s Librarian, and Helen Kamm, Library Assistant.
- During a visit to the Library, paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were in town to give a lecture at the University of Southern Indiana. During their visit, Lorraine reported seeing the ghost peering into the water.
- Policemen responding to a security alarm at the library spotted two ghosts in an upstairs window of the library.
- A library patron reported an encounter with the Grey Lady in the library elevator.
- Local weathercaster Jeff Lyons also reported an encounter with the spirit.
- Hundreds of people have searched for the Grey Lady each October during the Library’s popular Ghost Tours. The tradition began in the 1990s and quickly became a favorite annual event. After decades of spooky fun, the Ghost Tours are taking a nice, long hiatus. We’re grateful to everyone who joined us over the years and helped make this special tradition such a success!
