The Willard Library allows after hours investigations of the library. Below we have provided the basic information about investigating the historic Willard Library.

Can anybody Investigate the Willard Library?

Yes, any individual or team may investigate the Willard Library as long as they agree to follow the terms and limits of the investigation and provide a donation to the library. 

How much does an investigation cost?

• We suggest a miminum donation of $250 for a small team of 6 people or less.
• For larger teams, we ask that you consider a larger donation amount of what you think is fair and equitable for the size of your team.
• All donations go to support the cost of staff to be on site during the investigation and the ongoing programs of the Willard Library. 
• Donation waivers or lower donation thresholds may be considered upon request to accommodate as many teams as possible.

When and how do we pay the donation?

You can make your donation on the night of the investigation or closer to it.  Acceptable forms of payment include cash, check, and debit/credit cards. Click here to donate online, or bring your cash or check with you to the investigation.  

What time will the investigation take place?

Investigation hours are 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM. Requests for other time slots may be considered. 

What dates are available?

We schedule investigations on  Wednesdays through Sundays. Please provide your preferred date for the investigation and two alternate dates. We will do our best to accomodate your preferred date. 

How do we schedule an Investigation?

Fill out the form below and a team member will get back to you to confirm your date. Staff will typically get back to within a few days of your submission. 

Will there be somebody at the library with us?

Yes, we always have a staff person on site during the investigation. The staff member will be there to let your team in the building, collect waivers forms, donations, and to provide your team with a brief tour/orientation of the library. Once your investigation starts that staff member will stay our of your way but will assist you and answer questions at your request. 

Can we bring drinks, snacks, and food to our investigation?

Yes, but we ask that you clean up after your self and your team, please do not make our staff clean up your trash. 

Can we do an investigation on Halloween?

Yes, but due to the high volume of requests for Halloween we require a $500 mimimun donation with a deposit to secure your date. 

Do you allow teams to stay the whole night until the dawn the next morning?

We typically schedule investigations from the hours 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM. We will consider unique requests for longer investigation times or til dawn investigations, but those requests will be considered on case by case basis and will also require a mimimum donation of between  $500-$1000 depending on the scope of the request.
